Introducing Musashi an original fragrance from Gentleman's Nod. This is the first LE offering in a new "Origins" series, featuring a fragrance developed around a single note or accord.

The fragrance is inteded to invoke feelings of walking from an isolated coastal region with the fresh zest of citrus and sweetness of Nashi pear. As you move inland and into slightly higher elevations, Jasmine Tea, florals and spice dominate the fragrance. Ultimately as your journey continues into yet higher, forested elevations the fragrance again transforms into a more earthy and woodsy mix reminiscent of the damp forest floor and ancient firs.

We invite you to be immersed in this beautiful fragrance developed around a heart of Jasmine Tea with the accompanying notes stemming from an Asian origin with Japan in particular. Rediscover the ritual!

C4 Base

Cardinal base V.4 or C4 for short is the culmination of over 200 hours of R&D. It is essentially a complete overhaul of the previous Cardinal base. We have looked at every aspect of performance and made improvements across the board. This soap loads extremely fast, builds lather effortlessly, is obscenely slick, and will leave your face feeling soft, supple, and rejuvenated. Be careful…The lather is explosive! Note: This LE version contains Sodium Hyaluronate, the sodium salt of Hyaluronic Acid. It has a much lower molucular weight than HA and will penetrade the Epidermis. Hydrates, plumps, softens from the inside. Meant to be face lathered!

Kensei opens with a beautifully unique citrus blast of Blood Orange, Yuzu, and Yellow Mandarin. It is light, juicy, tangy and undeniably uplifting. The sweet and crisp Nashi pear adds to this energizing and delectable opening.

The fresh open transforms with the rich complexity of Lapsang Suchong tea. The uniqueness of this tea cannot be overstated. The tea is smoke dried over pine wood creating an effect that adds a hint of wood smoke and resin to the depth of black tea. The floral combo of Neroli and Violet keep the fragrance light and fresh extending the lift from the citrus open.

An exotic mix of black pepper and saffron create a luxurious creamy, warm spiced effect that leads into a comforting woody finish.

Our Johnny fragrance was created for those who don’t quite fit the mold of other’s expectations and are comfortable with it. Vincent - Van Gogh was perhaps the most famous artist the world has known. His life and works exemplified the contrast of beauty and tragedy. To illustrate this further, his most beloved work The Starry Night, from which we derived the number 11 (# of stars), was created just a month after having himself committed. The inspiration for this complex fragrance was taken from the prolific period of Arles and Saint-Rémy.

The fragrance opens with the nutty sweet and fresh combination of almond and citrus. The heart of this fragrance transitions into a spicy green floral dominated by lavender, cypress and rosewood. A deep, rich finish that is earthy, powdery and green is created by the combination of Oakmoss, Orcanox, and Vetiver. Though Van Gogh only sold (1) painting during his lifetime, his works have left an indelible impression on the world of art. We hope this fragrance leaves a lasting impression as well.

Citrus aromatic fragrances with a Mediterranean flair have always been a bit of a “guilty pleasure” for me. This is particularly true when they are anchored by the extraordinary citrus from Calabria, Bergamot.

It is at once bright and invigorating with a unique bittersweet tartness. It’s uniqueness is bolstered by the subtle floral and herbal elements that hide just beneath the surface. Like a polished gemstone, it has many exemplary facets that shine through when combined with complementary notes.

When developing Calabria we wanted to create an experience that is bright, effervescent and uplifting. Imagine the scene overlooking the beauty of the Italian coastline engaged in light conversation among friends. You order brunch while sipping on an Aperol Spritz. The sun is shining bright while the sounds of birds and the ocean are carried on a gentle breeze. - This is Calabria!

The bright and tart Bergamot is combined with a sparkling and zesty grapefruit. This effervescent open is tempered a bit by the unique fresh aromatic combo of Ginger and Cardamom. A beautiful trio of florals headed by the amazing fruity Osmanthus blends harmoniously into the mix. The finish is soft and smooth with woods and musk. We hope you enjoy this truly exceptional expression of a citrus aromatic fragrance with a Mediterranean twist.

When Sean, the founder of Carbon shaving approached us about collaborating on a fragrance, Damascus kept coming up. As a designer of heirloom quality razors, he had utilized the modern form of Damascus steel in some of his pieces of functional artwork. With the popularity of our “origin” series perfumes like Musashi and Sidama, the ancient city of Damascus also beckoned. We decided to develop this new original fragrance as an homage to the famous steel, the city and its storied markets.

The colors, design, and illustrations serve to highlight the beauty and history of Damascus steel, while the fragrance itself transports the wearer to the ancient city and its markets.

Introducing Damascus No.1 an elegant and sensual ambrée both woody and spicy created by Master Perfumer Claude Dir.

A trio of spices (black pepper, cardamom, and saffron) dance with the creamy sweetness of Fig for a warm and sensual open. This spiced open has a honeyed hay subtlety with just a hint of leather and smoke. The honeyed thread persists and leads seamlessly into an exotic heart where the spices whirl around with complex florals and dried fruits (orris, davana, rose de grasse). Damascus dries down to a warm, sensual, and elegant finish. The composition is nothing short of magical in its interplay as an ambrée both woody and spicy. The actual expression is a masterfully executed composition of woods, spices, musk, leather and smoke.

Bluegrass Muse is the first installment of our EPICureal collection. It is our attempt at deconstructing the aromas of food and beverage. This first iteration is the Kentucky Mule cocktail. This is a collaboration with the good gents @ bbs.live. How would we describe this fragrance? It is BOOZY, but not in a brash in your face way. The lime is very unique and forward. Anyone who is familiar with Southeast Asian cuisine should be familiar with Kaffir Lime. It has a depth and complexity far beyond your typical lime essential oil. Ginger had to be a player due to the ginger beer element in the cocktail, but we wanted to make sure the spice component was a bit more nuanced. To achieve this, we added Coriander, and Cardamom to the Ginger forward spice elements. Finally we wanted to give the fragrance a nice deep woodsy and slightly sweet finish which the Oak and Benzoin pulled off perfectly. We hope you enjoy! Cheers!

A collaboration with the gents on the ShaveMigos. The scent and release is inspired by archetypes in the old west. In particular, the Outlaw is inspired by Doc Holliday.

Quick-witted and quick on the draw the outlaw immediately grabs your attention with a bright and spicy open. It’s at once invigorating, yet sensual. It’s surprisingly clean and aromatic with an unexpected air of sophistication, and just a hint of sweetness. As the sun sets, the outlaw shows his true character. Cosecha Catalana or Catalonian Harvest (Collita Catalana) in Catalan is a Mediterranean fragrance inspired by a fall harvest.

The shave soap also contains a hint of natural peach to signify the late fall Catalonian peach harvest.

A new morning dawns as you set your eyes upon a beautiful Mediterranean coastline. Immediately, you are met with an intensely aromatic, green and herbal aroma highlighted by bright citrus. Traveling inland, dry florals with herbal and woody accents draw you further into the sprawling countryside. 2nd collaboration with the gents over @ BBS.Live (Melly Mel, Nate, and Brandon) has arrived. In our first collaboration Bluegrass Muse, we tackled the classic Kentucky Mule and created a fantastic boozy, spiced lime fragrance. This time around we dove into the combo of passion fruit and Timur pepper.

PASSION POIVRÉE (Passio Pwah Vrey) is an exploration in contrasts. It’s playful and splashy, yet sophisticated. It’s fire and ice; a frozen cocktail on a sun drenched tropical beach. This is a passion fruit forward fragrance that opens fresh and spicy. Bergamot, Grapefruit and Lemon Zest compliment tropical and tangy passion fruit. Ginger and Timur pepper highlight and accentuate the zesty citrus and fruity nuances while adding a distinctive spicy and peppery facet. Green apple extends the tart, fruity elements while saffron introduces us to the seductive dry down. The finish is intimate and exotic with elements leather, amber, and woods. The sun has definitely set, but the evening has just begun. Peppered passion is aptly named as it is passionate, fiery, and full of life!

Like Musashi, Sidama belongs ORIGINs collection. The fragrance is designed to showcase coffee with the surrounding notes building on the birthplace of coffee Sidama, Ethiopia. The fragrance has a slightly sweet and boozy open that is coffee forward with fruity nuances from berries and apricot. As it transitions; a unique and creamy mix of Iris, lactonic features, and a hint of dark chocolate bridge the open and base. The fragrance dries down with a warm ambery and musky richness anchored by woods, spice, and earthy elements.

You can only outrun the law for so long...Eventually, the LAWMAN will have his reckoning. As a follow-up to the immensely popular fresh, spicy, and seductive OUTLAW, LAWMAN takes a more rugged twist. Bold, confident and assertive without being brash the LAWMAN ensnares the senses without a word.

LAWMAN is built around the wonderfully distinctive dry, earthy and smoky mesquite wood. It opens fresh and spicy with aromatic and green facets. Lux base improvements. 1) Fragrance Enhancement - We wanted to develop a base formulation that allowed our sophisticated and complex fragrance profiles to shine. 2) Ease of use - We wanted to create a base formulation that was both quicker and easier to develop a really exceptional lather. 3) Product Efficiency - We wanted to improve the efficiency of the base so that it would require less product to produce an exceptional result. 4) Improved Slickness - We wanted to improve overall slickness of the lather and residual slickness in particular. 5) Performance Consistency - Finally, we wanted to develop a base that displayed more consistency in performance in varying climates and over extended time periods.

Tusitala or “teller of tales” was the name given to RLS by the Samoan people. It was also the name of the last full rigged merchant ship to fly the American flag. A new dawn awakens. You are instantly greeted with a compliment of bright and zesty citrus. Exotic and spicy cardamom provides a beautiful richness and complexity. Then, as if carried on a light summer breeze something fruity and somehow tropical begins to take shape. A tangy green peach ensnares the senses, while a beautiful floral combo of Jasmine and Orris add a slightly sweet and musky quality. A bittersweet Saffron and rich rum bring us to to the finish of this journey. Like a warm embrace at sunset that you never want to end Tusitala finishes with an enduring intimate and comforting quality. Rich and natural tobacco leaf and musk combine with the sweetness of tonka and deep woods.

This will be a limited release and only available in shave soap and aftershave splash. This is for those who don’t determine their fragrance choice by season or just love the summer freshies. It is a mashup of Musashi and Ernest with a few minor tweaks. The uniquely fresh open of Musashi is present with the slight added sweetness of the mango and citrus from Ernest. The warmer elements of the dry down in Ernest bring a comforting richness that help anchor this a bit for use in the cooler months as well.

Legendary 17th century samurai, Musashi travels through time and space to save his country from the ravages of winter. He meets many eccentric and inspiring characters along the way including presidents, artists, athletes, and even a talking mule named Blue. Not finding exactly what he is looking for and about to give up he stumbles into a bar in 20th century Havana. He sits down at the bar and strikes up a conversation with an author, adventurer and rum aficionado named Ernest. Over a long weekend, many Daiquiris and a few fine cigars they distill the essence of summer. To show his appreciation, Musashi agrees to name their creation after Ernest’s estate on the outskirts of Havana - Finca Vigía. Musashi arrives back in 17th century Japan just in time to save summer and share their creation with the people!
