The crisp, fresh and pristine nature of a first snow is always memorable. This is particularly true in the mountainous regions of Japan. The multi-sensorial experience of a fresh wind through the unique majesty of Japanese pine and fir trees is a wonder to behold. With MizuKaze, literally “fresh wind” we wanted to bring this unique experience to our popular Musashi fragrance. If the original was associated with Spring, and Kensei inspired by fall, MizuKaze is definitely the winter inspired version. Right off the bat we dialed up the cool and fresh elements with an invigorating trio of peppermint, rosemary and juniper. We added a truly unique blue ginger oil prized for its spicy citrus and floral character. Keeping in step with the cooling character we swapped the floral element to lavender. The tea we utilized for this is the delicate sliver needle white tea. This tea is made from the young unopened silvery downy buds of the tea plant. It was originally reserved only for royalty. Its aroma is delicate and floral in nature with a slight honey sweetness. The dry down is distinctly green and woody providing that quintessential evergreen freshness while the frankincense adds lift and complexity.

Traditional warm and earthy elements of Patchouli, Amber, Oak Moss, and Musk create the base of this deep fragrance. Taking cue from his tobacco cultivation at Mt. Vernon, we added a healthy portion of tobacco.
